Remember (and why I'm in love)

When the fall air is cool, I want to remember this summer.

When the snow is piled high outside my door, I want to remember this summer.

When next spring's rains and wind come, I want to remember this summer.

This has been a spectacular summer, as summers in eastern Washington go. A very blustery, mosquitoe-rich spring stepped aside for a temperate, dry, bug-free, blue-sky summer rich with blue bird babies, eastern kingbirds, crossbills, and hummingbirds--lots of hummingbirds--at the feeders.

Oh, I forgot another visitor this summer. It was if this coyote stopped to pose for me.
