Tonight my glass is half empty

I stood outside tonight with the girls taking a potty break (the girls, not me), marveling at how lucky I am to have found this property and wondering how long it will last. How long will it be before the owners of the property next to me start building on it. How long before the rancher who owns all the beautiful property across the road from me sells out to some developer putting ticky tackies on small lots and stealing my water.

It's the depths of winter...I get like this. Spring can't come soon enough.

It's been a winter for the books--lots of snow and lots of wind and drifting snow. And then one day the snow stopped and we're getting a nice gentle melt.

But before the melt, I was on the roof...shoveling. That was fun.
